Not a whole lot of description necessary for the Sox first week of 08. I'd say a sweep of the Tigers and a 5-2 record does a pretty nice job of speaking for itself. A record, I might add, that iIm pretty sure is identical to the 05 start. As is the lack of respect, which is fine; under the radar is the way to be.

So far 8 awards have been given out by This Year In  Baseball, TYIB.  Red Sox players have won half of those rewards and when not finishing in first have finished no worse than third place.  Three of the four non first place winners had the second highest amount of votes.  This years TYIB awards, voted on by the fans, show just big Red

Roger Clemens did. 

Why would he have done this?  After his career with the Boston Red Sox his numbers would have given him an arguement for entry into the hall of fame. He had 192 wins, 2590 strike outs and an ERA of 3.05.  When he left the Red

ear contract for the Milwaukee Brewers for $10 million.  Consider his performance with the Red Sox last season and that is a ridiculous.  Add in that he was mentioned in George Mitchell’s report on steroids that was released today and that was laughable.  It seems we now know why Gagne had shoulder problems a couple years ago.  Steroids aside though, I am glad to see him go.  Though it can’t be determined for sure (it will take a few years to know) the Red
